Job Description:
AWS Cryptography is focused on delivering optimized cryptographic algorithms for our customers that raises the bar on security. The Senior Software Developer will be responsible for implementing new optimizations and designing new features for the Amazon Corretto Crypto Provider (ACCP), an in-house Java Cryptography Architecture (JCA) implementation. We want our customers to take advantage of assembly-level and CPU-level performance tuning for significant cost reductions, latency reductions, and higher throughput. Job Responsibilities:
- Work with a team of talented Software Development Engineers and Applied Scientists.
- Evangelize within and outside Amazon to encourage fast and smooth adoption of ACCP.
- Deliver new cryptographic algorithms and optimizations to both internal and external customers around the world.
- Work with multiple AWS teams to coordinate technical development effort.
- Contributing to open source projects, such as AWS Libcrypto.
- Be a committed technical leader who develops and mentors’ junior engineers
Job Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
- 3+ years of programming experience with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
- 4+ years of professional software development experience
- Have experience building applications with AWS core services (EC2, S3, RDS, KMS, etc.).
- 2+ years of experience of developing libraries and/or cryptography services
- Basic knowledge and understanding of cryptography principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a wide variety of audiences.
- 2+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
